Despacito by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, and Daddy Yankee became the song most streamed within less than six weeks. A mix between Reggaeton and pop came out in 2017 by the Puerto Rican musician Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. The track became the most-streamed at that in just 6 months. In 2015 there were only two mostly songs with Spanish lyrics on the Billboard Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. The Despacito song was at its peak popularity in 2017 however 19 predominantly Spanish tracks made the Top 100 In 2020, there were 41 of them. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 with a version in two languages. Then, various artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars including Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma and Medellin 2019. By 2020 a few reggaeton artists were expressing displeasure at the genre's direction toward the mainstream. However, a younger generation namely Rauw Alejandro was determined to ensure that reggaeton was evolving. The genre often included elements of electronic dance music and other forms.
